San Fran 2010

This posting is long over-due, and I have nothing other than procrastination to blame. The gang decided to hit San Francisco over the first weekend in November to celebrate Chressys (Chris + Tessy) decision to join in matrimony. This was by far the best turnout of all the trips I’ve made with my friends over the years, and was a real good time.

The bulk of us got to San Francisco on Thursday night and grabbed a late dinner followed by some drunk karaoke. The next morning we (Jason, Joe and I) grabbed some cupcakes in the morning for everyone and picked them up to have brunch at Sausalito. From Sausalito, we had a long drive to Bodega Bay where we played/made up a bunch of games to kill time. After a short stop at Bodega Bay, we drove back to Petaluma, which was our stop for the evening. A lot of drinking, King’s Cup, followed by a vague memory of dinner and going out closed out Friday and into early Saturday.

Saturday was wine-tasting day in the amazing Russian River Valley region. A quick side-note to those who are reading this: next time anybody plans a trip to Napa valley or Sonoma coast, consider going to Russian River valley instead; you will not be disappointed. We started the day at ‘J’ winery, and hit a few others including Francis Coppola (awesome director and winery… not so great wine), and ended at Bella. It is a regular stop of ours whenever we go to the Russian River region and had our to-go sandwiches along with some wines there followed by football, hula-hoops, dog-piles and a bunch of other shenanigans.

After a whole day of hitting numerous wineries, the plan called for returning back that evening to San Francisco; and that is exactly what we did! We spent the rest of the night just hanging out at the lounge atop the W hotel after a failed attempt at getting into a club.

The next morning, we went for mass at this chinese-catholic church, which was an interesting experience. What better to do after church than brunch and bottomless mimosas?!? That took us well into late afternoon at which point it was time for us to return back to Houston. Check out all the pics below!
